Statement from Northland School Division on the Passing of RMWB Councillor Jane Stroud
Posted on August 12
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo (RMWB) Councillor Jane Stroud, a dedicated leader who served the communities of Anzac, Janvier, and Conklin since 2010. A statement was posted by RMWB today (Monday, August 12, 2024) https://www.rmwb.ca/en/news/municipal-flags-at-half-mast-in-memory-of-councillor-jane-stroud.aspx.
Jane Stroud was not only a tireless advocate for the communities she represented but also a strong supporter of education. Her ongoing commitment to Anzac School, Bill Woodward School, Father R. Perin School, and Conklin Community School was evident in her regular attendance at school and division events. Jane was always willing to advocate on our behalf, ensuring that the needs and concerns of our schools were heard and addressed.
The loss of Jane is deeply felt, not only by her immediate family and RMWB colleagues but also by the entire Northland School Division family. She was a kind and compassionate leader who always stood up for what she believed was right, and her contributions to our schools and communities will never be forgotten.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Jane's family, friends, and all who knew her. She will be profoundly missed.
