Northland schools are hosting events to recognize National Addictions Awareness Week (NAAW) November 12-18, 2017. NAAW highlights issues and solutions to help address alcohol and other drug related harm. The theme this year is #WordsMatter. School events:
Calling Lake School: The school is hosting a drug awareness presentation on November 16th at 10:30 a.m. The event is presented by the RCMP K Division drug unit. Click here for more information.
J.F. Dion School: In recognition of National Addictions Awareness Week, students created posters displaying this year's theme #WordsMatter. The entire school participated in the Alberta Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission (AADAC) Walk and Life Synergy for Youth Program Facilitator Dwayne Peace spoke to grade 5-8 students about the truth about drugs. Peace presented the same information in the evening to parents.
