Northland School Division is pleased to announce two Principal appointments for the 2024-2025 school year!
Rosalind Best - Appointed Principal of Bishop Routhier School
Ms. Rosalind Best, who has led Hillview School since the 2020-2021 school year, will now take the helm at Bishop Routhier School. Ms. Best's extensive experience within the Northland School Division, starting in 2014 as a teacher, literacy lead, land-based learning coordinator and later as a school administrator, equips her well for this new role.
She holds a Bachelor of Education from Acadia University and a Bachelor of Applied Arts from Mount Saint Vincent University, and has successfully completed our Aspiring Leaders Program, aimed at preparing teachers to become school leaders.
Dawn MacLean - Appointed Principal of Hillview School
Mrs. Dawn MacLean will transition from her role as Principal at Bishop Routhier School to lead Hillview School. Mrs. MacLean's diverse experience across the High Prairie School Division, Grande Prairie Public School Division, and Grande Prairie Catholic School District has prepared her for this leadership opportunity. As a Métis educator and a passionate advocate for Indigenous youth, she brings a valuable perspective to her role.
Mrs. MacLean holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta with a focus on elementary education and a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in psychology and a minor in sociology from Concordia University of Edmonton.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Best and Mrs. MacLean on their new roles. We are enthusiastic about their upcoming contributions and the fresh perspectives they will bring to their respective schools.
