Northland celebrates National Indigenous Peoples Day
Posted on June 21
Canada’s National Indigenous Peoples Day is annually held on June 21 to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and outstanding achievements of the nation’s Indigenous peoples. There are three Indigenous groups in Canada – the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples.
To learn how NSD is celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day, please contact:
- Your local school https://www.nsd61.ca/careers.
- Visit your local school's Facebook page https://www.nsd61.ca/students-parents/school-facebook-pages.
On this day, we also acknowledge that there is much more work to do on the important journey to reconciliation. At Northland School Division, we will continue to support reconciliation to ensure that every child matters with loving memories and togetherness in the healing process for our communities whose children experienced the history of residential schools.
