Michelle Wile appointed Acting Director of Student Services

Northland School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Michelle Wile as Acting Director of Student Services. Michelle brings over 20 years of experience as an educator. Her previous roles include working in central office with the student services department and as a learning coach, serving as Principal at Fort McKay School, and most recently, as Vice-Principal at Anzac School-Bill Woodward School. She also taught at St. Theresa School in Wabasca-Desmarais.
Michelle's educational background is extensive and diverse. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Mount Saint Vincent University (2006), a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from Acadia University (2014), a Master of Education in Inclusive Education from Acadia University (2022), and a Master of Education in Leadership and Social Justice from the University of Calgary (2023). Currently, Michelle is enrolled in a Master of Education in Educational Technology, a joint program through Cape Breton University and Memorial University.
"Michelle’s extensive experience and educational background make her an excellent fit for this role,” said Cal Johnson, Superintendent of Schools/CEO. “Her expertise will be essential as we implement the Collaborative Response Model, which aims to enhance student success through regular team meetings, data-informed decision-making, and targeted interventions."
In addition to her academic pursuits, Michelle is a student pilot nearing the completion of her private license and plans to pursue a commercial pilot license.
