Little Buffalo School Lockdown

Little Buffalo School was placed under lockdown after a potential threat was made to students and staff at approximately 9:30 a.m. (Thursday, June 19, 2014). Peace Regional RCMP responded to the scene immediately to provide protection to students and staff and search for three males involved in the potential threat.
At approximately 11:30 a.m., Peace Regional RCMP alerted the school that two individuals were apprehended and transported to police custody; a third male was arrested soon after. The lockdown was lifted at 12:45 p.m. and students and staff are safe.
“Northland School Division No.61 (NSD61) students, staff, parents and community members support each other in times of need,” said Donna Barrett, Superintendent of Schools. “We are pleased with how staff, students and parents handled a challenging situation.”
