Joseph Duguay appointed Principal at Conklin Community School

Northland School Division (NSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Joseph Duguay as Conklin Community School Principal. Joseph is no stranger to the Conklin community. He has been teaching elementary and physical education for all grades at the school during the 2022-2023 school year.
“The Board congratulates Joseph on becoming the new Principal at Conklin Community School,” said Cathy Wanyandie, Board Chair. “We are pleased to see we have been able to recruit an outstanding leader for the Conklin School community. Being able to achieve excellence in leadership is essential to achieving our number one priority which is excellence in learning.”

Joseph has been teaching in Northern Alberta for the past 20 years. During his time as an educator, he has taken the time to better understand First Nations, Métis language and culture.
Mr. Duguay’s education includes a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Multidisciplinary Arts from the University of Moncton. He also earned a Bachelor of Theology from Newman Theological College. Following graduation, Joseph worked with the Canadian Armed Forces as a Roman Catholic Military Chaplain. He was responsible for fostering the spiritual, religious, and pastoral care of the members of the Canadian Armed Forces and their families.
