Holiday Message from Acting Superintendent of Schools/CEO
Posted on December 15
Tansi, Edlanat’e, Hello students, parents, guardians, staff and community members:
As we approach the end of 2023, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work and continued support. The first-half of this school year has been filled with moments to celebrate student success. Our first Tri-Annual Report for the 2023-2024 school year highlights the progress we have made with meeting or exceeding the priorities for Northland School Division (NSD):
- Excellence in Learning
- Excellence in Leadership
- Excellence in Relationships
Visit the NSD website to view the report https://www.nsd61.ca/download/432832. The accomplishments showcased in the Tri-Annual Report are not possible without hard work, dedication and involvement from families, community members and education partners.
I also want to take a moment to highlight the 2022-2023 Annual Education Results Report (AERR). The AERR is one-way NSD communicates student achievement, accomplishments and priorities to the students, parents, community members and school division partners. The 2022-2023 AERR details progress NSD has made in meeting Alberta Education Assurance Measures (AEAMs). Visit the NSD website to view the results https://www.nsd61.ca/download/433984. While viewing the results, you will see that NSD has seen significant improvement in parental involvement, school programming and high school completion rates.
All of the successes Northland has achieved are designed to positively impact student learning. With all of us working together, there is no limit to the success Northland students can achieve.
During the holiday break, focus on staying warm and spending time with family and friends.
On behalf of Administration, Miyo Nipayamiha, Tedhyati Haretiya Watei, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
The first day back for students is Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Sincerely,
Scott Meunier
Acting Superintendent of Schools/CEO
