Northland School Division No.61 (NSD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela Sanregret as J.F. Dion School Principal (Fishing Lake Métis Settlement). Angela’s education career began in Frog Lake First Nation; which is approximately 30 minutes away from Fishing Lake Métis Settlement.
"I am excited to begin a new chapter with the J.F. Dion School family,” said Sanregret. The school already has a great foundation. I look forward to ensuring students are strong in identity, healthy and successful with support from staff, parents and community members.”
Angela has been involved in education for nearly 20 years in various positions. Following her first teaching assignment at Frog Lake First Nation, Angela worked with the Calgary Board of Education as an Individualized Program Plan (IPP) Coordinator/Guidance Counsellor. In 2002, she went back to teaching at Elizabeth Community School in Cold Lake. Over a six-year period, she took on the inclusive education role at the school and taught various subjects to students in grades 6-8.
Those experiences eventually lead to school administration roles for Angela. She served as principal at Frog Lake First Nation and recently at the Kehewin Community Education Centre. Angela has a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and is working on a Master’s Degree from the University of Calgary.
