Thank you Honourable Danielle Larivee for visiting the Gift Lake Community Learning Centre!
Larivee, Minister of Children’s Services and Status of Women, spoke with students, staff, Ward 3 Trustee Randy Anderson, the Gift Lake Metis Settlement Council and toured the entire facility.
The Gift Lake Community Learning Centre, which opened in 2015, was made possible through a partnership between NSD, Northern Lakes College (NLC), Gift Lake Métis Settlement and the Government of Alberta. The facility houses Gift Lake School, a Head Start program, Northern Lakes College Outreach Campus and a multi-purpose section.
As part of the tour, Larivee read a story to a grade 1 class, answered questions from students and served lunch to elementary kids. Before Minister Larivee and Gift Lake Metis Settlement Council left, students presented them with gifts.
