NSD schools celebrating Northland Day

Schools across the division are hosting a "Northland Day" event. Northland Day is an opportunity for school staff to interact with students, parents, Elders and community members. Scroll down to see how schools celebrated "Northland Day"!
Northland Day at Athabasca Delta Community School
On Friday, September 7th, Athabasca Delta Community School (Fort Chipewyan) celebrated Northland Day by hosting a pancake lunch. The school also organized bingo and hand games for students, parents, Elders and community members in attendance.
Northland Day at Anzac Community School and Bill Woodward School
Anzac Community School and Bill Woodward School hosted a fun Northland Day Meet the Teacher BBQ! In addition to the BBQ, families watched students perform traditional Métis dances. Thank you Motivational Cultural Facilitator Beverly Lambert for teaching students traditional dances.
Northland Day at Fort McKay School
Fort McKay School's Northland Day celebrated Indigenous language and culture. The celebration included local drumming, Elder and student dance performances, and a round dance.
Northland Day at Grouard Northland School
Grouard Northland School had a great turn for all Northland Day activities! Thank you to Nilda, Kerry and Kayla from the Children’s Resource Council, Nancy and Nicole from Big Lakes FCSS, Juanita from WJS and Bernadette from the First Nations Health Consortium.
