Health and Wellness Day at Mistassiniy School

Mistassiniy School is doing its part to achieve Northland School Division's (NSD) #1 Outcome Statement, NSD students are strong in identity, healthy and successful. The school hosted its annual Health and Wellness Day on February 27, 2018. The day was packed with sessions on topics like self-care, colour and music therapy, healthy eating and physical activity and career opportunities. The school also unveiled its new wellness room.

- Healthy snacking
- Music therapy
- Stress ball making
- Yoga
- Career opportunity discussions
The final session featured guest speaker Phillip Nanimahoo. Mr. Nanimahoo is the Director of Community Wellness for Bigstone Cree Nation. He spoke to students, staff, parents and community members about wellness from an Indigenous perspective.
