Board of Trustees for NSD to be sworn in October 26th

It's an exciting week for Northland School Division (NSD). The Board of Trustees arrived at central office in Peace River yesterday (October 24th) for the beginning of orientation. Today (October 25th), Marie Delorme, CEO of the Imagination Group, is hosting a workshop with the Board Trustees about effective governance. The session will emphasize their fiduciary responsibility to all students.
Tomorrow (October 26), the Organizational Meeting takes place at 8:30 a.m. At this meeting, the Board of Trustees will be sworn in, elect a Board Chair and a Vice-Chair, establish Board Meeting dates, appoint Board representatives and review conflict of interest stipulations. Following the Organizational Meeting, the Regular Board Meeting begins at 9:45 a.m.
At 2:00 p.m. a Board of Trustees Ceremony is taking place at the Chateau Nova in Peace River. The Honourable David Eggen, Minister of Education will be participating in the ceremony along with other dignitaries. The Board of Trustees will be presented gifts as a reminder of the oath they taken and the important role they have in the education of all students at NSD.
