NSD mourning loss of staff member
Posted on February 20
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a cherished member of the Northland School Division (NSD) family, Lorna Grainger. Lorna, who recently served with dedication as the Manager of Student Services, passed away on Monday, February 19th, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lorna began her teaching career with NSD in 1999. She has served as a teacher, principal, special education coordinator, supervisor of students services and manager of student services.
Throughout her 21 years with us, she not only educated but inspired both students and staff with her passion, her infectious smile, and energy. Lorna's willingness to help others was a hallmark of her character that touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Chris, her step-children, Alyssa and Cole, and her two daughters, Anna and Emily.
The loss of Lorna is felt deeply, not only by her immediate family but also by the entire Northland School Division family. As we navigate through this difficult time, we find comfort in the memories of her vibrant presence among us.
Lorna was one of my favourite nieces if not my favourite (do t tell the others) has always been such an accomplished lady. Gone way too soon, but what a courageous battle she fought. RIP ❤️
