Dawn Power appointed Vice-Principal at St. Theresa School

Northland School Division is pleased to announce the appointment of Dawn Power as St. Theresa School Vice-Principal. Dawn served as the Acting Vice-Principal during the 2022-2023 school year. Dawn has been an educator and a fixture in the Wabasca-Desmarais community for the past 15 years.
“The Board congratulates Dawn on becoming the Vice-Principal at St. Theresa School,” said Cathy Wanyandie, Board Chair. “We are pleased to see we have been able to retain a familiar face and an excellent administrator to support the school principal. Being able to achieve excellence in leadership is essential to achieving our number one priority which is excellence in learning.”
“Dawn has the leadership qualities we are looking for to support the instructional focus areas in the Northland School Division,” said Cal Johnson, Superintendent of Schools/CEO. “The knowledge she has gained while working with Northland aligns with our school division priorities. Congratulations Dawn!”
“I am excited to continue as Vice Principal at St. Theresa School,” said Power. “It has been very rewarding to work with Principal Shelley Stevenson, the staff and students. I look forward to another great year and am honoured to be given the opportunity.”
Dawn completed a Masters of Education from the University of Calgary. Northland School Division sponsored a cohort of educators for the Masters program. She also completed a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies from Cape Breton University and a Bachelor of Education from University of Maine, Fort Kent.
