NSD doing what they can to provide holiday cheer to staff who cannot go home
Posted on December 22
Usually, at this time, many of us would be finalizing travel arrangements to visit family and friends to celebrate Christmas and ring in the New Year. Unfortunately, a number of people, including Northland School Division staff, will not be able to go home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
With that in mind, Northland School Division wanted to do something to show support to staff who cannot go home. During the last week of school, the School Food Services (SFS) staff (a department within the Northland School Division) have been busy cooking turkey, and baked goods. After all the cooking, the SFS staff created individual packages and have been delivering the meals to staff who cannot go home for the holidays.
The Board's priority is to ensure staff feel valued in Northland. Board Chair Robin Guild stated that “We know staff will miss being with family and the Board and Administration, wanted them to know that the Northland family is thinking of them during this very unusual holiday season.”
