Chantelle Manybears recognized for being nominated for the Indigenous Shining Student Award at the NSD Long Service and Recognition Awards
Northland School Division honoured 27 staff and a grade 12 student at the Long Service and Recognition Awards at the Sawridge Inn and Conference Centre in Peace River on May 5th. The event recognized educators nominated for the Edwin Parr Teacher Award, the Excellence in Teaching Award and staff for 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service. This year, the division also celebrated two Esquao Award recipients and Indigenous Shining Student Award nominee Chantelle Manybears. Before the awards were handed out, a sacred honour song was performed by Elder Robert Cardinal and his son Ty Cardinal. The song was in honour of staff who have passed away.
